El Cerrito City Council to review possible district maps at June 9 meeting

Update: El Cerrito district maps narrowed to two by City Council

The El Cerrito City Council will review three possible district maps June 9.

Under threat of lawsuit, the city is moving toward having each City Council member elected from a specific district in the city. At the June 9 meeting, the council will take public input and provide feedback on three possible district maps.

The new system will not be in place for the council election for two seats in November. Those seats will still be elected at large. The new districts are expected to be in place for the November 2028 council election.

 June 9 agenda

The meeting begins at 6:15 PM in the council chambers.
