New EV charging stations at the El Cerrito Community Center

See update

As part of the work the city of El Cerrito is having done on the parking lot at the Community Center, two dual-port Level 2 ChargePoint charging stations have been installed. However, as of June 8, the stations’ screens show they have not yet been activated.

According to the ChargePoint website, each port of the CP6000 can handle both NACS (Tesla) and J1772 connectors. There is more information about the stations on the ChargePoint website, including a video that shows how each port is able to handle both types of hookups:

The lot was closed, Friday, June 5 for grinding and filling and was reopened Monday, June 8. According to the city website, it may be closed another day or two in the next few weeks to seal and stripe the parking lot. When the parking lot is closed, people headed for the Community Center and pool will need to use street parking.
